🛠️ Step 1: Set Up Your Google Form

  1. Go to Google Forms and create a new form.

  2. Add sample questions:

    • Name (Short answer)

    • Email (Short answer)

    • Message (Paragraph)

  3. Click Send to get the link (no need to share yet).

  1. Open Google Sheets and create a new spreadsheet.

  2. In Row 1, add headers that match your form fields exactly:

    • Name

    • Email

    • Message

  1. Go to Make.com and create a free account.

  2. Once inside, click Create a new scenario.

 


🔌 Step 4: Connect Google Forms to Make

  1. In the scenario builder, click the big + button.

  3. Choose Watch Responses as your trigger.

  4. If prompted, connect your Google account.

  5. For Form ID:

    • Open your form

    • Copy the long string in the URL between /d/ and /edit

    • Paste it into Make

  6. Set Limit to 1 (so it grabs one response at a time).

📥 Step 5: Add Google Sheets to the Scenario

  1. Click the next + button.

  2. Search for Google Sheets and choose Add a Row.

  3. Connect your Google account if asked.

  4. For Spreadsheet ID:

    • Copy it from your Sheet’s URL (between /d/ and /edit)

  5. Choose your Sheet Name (usually “Sheet1” unless renamed).

  6. Map fields: Match each form field to a column in your sheet using the drag-and-drop UI.

📧 Step 6: Set Up Email Notifications

  1. Click the next + button again.

  2. Search for Email or Gmail.

  3. Set up your connection. Detailed guide here
  4. Choose Send an Email.

  5. Fill in:

    • To: Your email

    • Subject: e.g., “New Google Form Submission”

    • Body: Use the form fields to build your message like:

🧪 Step 7: Test It Out

  1. Click Run Once in the bottom left of your scenario.

  2. Fill out your Google Form with sample data.

  3. Check:

    • Your Google Sheet: New row added? ✅

If the test worked:

  1. Click the ON switch (top-right) to activate your scenario.
